your area of responsibility

  • You will manage the “Vienna Business” brand social media channels (LinkedIn; Instagram coming soon) with the objective of driving growth and engagement.

  • You will manage online communities, monitoring and responding as necessary to comments and messages.

  • You will coordinate content production and have primary responsibility for day-to-day posting on these channels.

  • You will support the execution and evaluation of digital campaigns.

  • You will work in a newsroom-style setting, contributing to topic and content planning and delivering original reporting on a deadline.

  • You will manage the arc from the development of ideas to cross-channel publication and promotion – team members are expected to post their own stories on our website(s), social media channels, etc.

  • You will regularly produce all manner of communications texts - from short social media posts to longer website entries, press releases, newsletters, etc.

  • You will actively support/ lead large internal communications projects, e.g. the annual startup festival ViennaUP.

your profile

  • Your written and spoken English is excellent (native or equivalent)

  • Your written and spoken German is very good, and you are able to draft emails and social media posts in German. The working language of the Vienna Business Agency and the communications department is also German.

  • You have at least 2-3 years of experience in the development and management of social media channels and/or digital marketing.

  • You have at least 2 years of experience creating photos and videos that tell and are fluent in the use of common graphics and / or video editing programs.

  • You can manage communications projects and events involving multiple internal and external stakeholders.

  • You are familiar with common monitoring and tracking systems e.g. Matomo.

  • You can use basic office computing tools e.g. Microsoft Office.

  • Relationship building is your forte, whether in person, over the phone or via email.

  • You love working in a team.

Flexible working times and remote work

Maintaining a healthy work-life balance is important to us. Under our flexitime agreement, you can organise your own working hours. Moreover, lunch breaks are paid, which results in a 37.5-hour work week. Our IT setup makes it possible to for most of us to ocassionally work from home.

Additional leave

Everyone needs time off. In addition to the statutory leave entitlement, you will be given an additional day of leave after completing your first year with the Vienna Business Agency and another day of leave after completing a further three years. December 24 and 31 are days off, while All Soul's Day and Good Friday are both half-days off.

Meal allowance

Our team receives a tax-free meal allowance in the form of restaurant and food vouchers for every workday. These vouchers can be redeemed in many different restaurants and supermarkets. Coffee, tea and mineral water are available cost-free on the office premises.
