your area of responsibility
Travel to insular islands to assess each hospital’s situation, equipment, and manpower.
Develop customized preventative maintenance plans for hospitals across multiple locations, including Palau, Guam, Saipan, Yap, Chuuk, Pohnpei, Kosrae, Majuro, Ebeye, and American Samoa.
Create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for tools, supplies, work orders, and task assignments.
Train hospital staff on the maintenance plans and SOPs.
Conduct follow-up visits to evaluate progress and make necessary adjustments.
Assist in reviewing and developing grant proposals for maintenance projects.
Provide ongoing facility-related guidance and support to hospital staff.
Document and report on maintenance activities and outcomes.
Collaborate with local management to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as needed.
your profile
Must be able to climb stairs without assistance.
Possess a valid U.S. passport and driver’s license.
Ability and willingness to travel extensively to various locations, including Palau, Guam, Saipan, Yap, Chuuk, Pohnpei, Kosrae, Majuro, Ebeye, and American Samoa.
Hold a recognized four-year degree in engineering, a related technical field, or business management.
Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in facilities management/repair, including at least 3 years in hospital or medical facilities maintenance.
Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Excellent listening skills and the ability to communicate effectively, especially with non-native English speakers.
Strong written communication skills.
Proven ability to earn the confidence and cooperation of staff at various locations.
Experience in Pacific Islands or tribal areas is highly preferred.
