your area of responsibility
Conduct on-site inspections and review reports to evaluate the effectiveness and compliance of construction activities.
Oversee complex construction projects, applying specialized technical expertise to ensure the project meets all specifications, timelines, and quality standards.
Ensure contractor compliance with schedules, plans, specifications, and workmanship standards, and provide guidance to address deficiencies.
Inspect construction materials, installations, and testing, identifying deficiencies and suggesting alternative methods to meet project requirements.
Review contractor quality control reports and perform quality assurance inspections per USACE standards to ensure the highest level of construction quality.
Monitor materials and workmanship during ongoing activities, ensuring they meet contract requirements and project specifications.
Participate in preparatory and initial inspections, ensuring that quality assurance reports are completed within 24 hours of inspections.
Confirm site layout, elevations, and quality control requirements before work begins, ensuring all aspects of the site are properly prepared.
Track and manage deficiencies, ensuring corrective actions are documented and effectively resolved.
Maintain accurate records of deficiencies, field issues, and Requests for Information (RFIs) to ensure proper project tracking and reporting.
Conduct shop inspections of offsite fabricated items to verify compliance with project specifications before delivery to the site.
your profile
Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction management, with a strong focus on field inspection, quality assurance, and contractor oversight.
Proven experience in managing complex construction operations, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of projects.
In-depth technical expertise in construction scheduling, quality assurance, and safety compliance across various construction disciplines.
Excellent analytical skills to assess contractor claims, performance, and compliance with project requirements.
Proficiency in maintaining thorough documentation and reporting using systems like the USACE Resident Management System (RMS) or equivalent.
CMAA Certification is a plus.
Expertise in:
Conducting field inspections to evaluate the acceptability of workmanship and ensure compliance with project plans and specifications.
Interpreting construction plans, specifications, and reviewing as-built drawings to verify accuracy and compliance.
Reviewing contractor daily quality control reports for accuracy, identifying deficiencies, and performing quality assurance inspections.
Familiarity with EM 385‐1‐1 (USACE Safety and Health Requirements Manual) and 29 CFR 1926 OSHA Construction Industry Regulations.
Reviewing and evaluating construction contractor claims, submitting reports to the Contracting Officer, and developing chronology of correspondence and events related to claims.
