your area of responsibility
Interact with VAPAHCS staff to establish and maintain ongoing communication, assess project progress, and prioritize tasks.
Prepare and organize the existing inventory of as-built plans, central models, and digital files for all buildings at VAPAHCS, using tools such as Revit, AutoCAD, and PDF formats.
Coordinate with VA CFM Resident Engineers (RE) and Project Managers (PM) to ensure as-built documents are correctly saved, archived, and made easily accessible for future reference.
Conduct site visits to verify as-built conditions, collecting accurate data to update architectural and engineering documents.
Develop and maintain CAD & Revit file systems to organize and maintain a systematic filing system for as-built drawings, enabling quick retrieval, reference, and ongoing updates.
Collaborate with vLogic to incorporate redline markups, updating site plans, floor plans, MEP systems, data layouts, and other relevant as-built documents.
Identify and coordinate efforts to locate and acquire missing as-built files to ensure comprehensive project coverage.
Utilize drafting skills to create and manage CAD and Revit content, setting up, organizing, and managing drawings while integrating external references and data as needed.
Employ professional PDF editing tools to generate and modify as-built documents, providing high-quality and accurate representations.
Stay informed about building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards to ensure all as-built documentation is compliant.
your profile
Minimum of five (5) years or more experience in drafting and CAD/BIM file management for commercial, industrial, healthcare buildings, and campus projects.
Proficiency in Revit, demonstrating competency in Autodesk (or industry equivalent) certification domains such as modeling, documentation, collaboration, project standards, and information analysis.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, including the ability to set up, organize, and manage drawings, link and reference external files, and apply annotations and detailing.
Professional skill with PDF editors, with work samples to demonstrate expertise.
In-depth knowledge of building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
Ability to obtain and assemble data to complete as-built architectural and engineering documents, including site verification.
Strong communication skills to effectively interpret and communicate technical information.
Experience in preparing correspondence, written reports, and maintaining official project records.
Proven experience in conducting meetings and briefings with VA and management personnel.
