your area of responsibility

We are looking for a dedicated IT Systems Administrator who will play a key role in our Security Operations. You will work in a multi-site IT system administrator team located at GSMC sites in France and Spain, and you will be trusted to take the lead on the following main tasks and responsibilities, including the oversight of the daily tasks:

  1. Ensure IT System Administration and Maintenance:

    1. Monitor the health status of all Core Operational IT systems providing daily reports on health status of those systems;

    2. Conduct system administration activities, including database maintenance, user management, data integrity checks, and backup/restoration processes;

    3. Carry out preventive maintenance tasks for all core operational systems as per defined schedules;

    4. Perform corrective maintenance activities, including hardware replacement and troubleshooting;

  2. Provide internal IT OPS Service Desk Support capabilities (supporting the team in handling incidents and requests);

  3. Provide Operational and Validation Support:

    1. Participate in regular Anomaly Review Boards (ARB), Change Control Boards (CCB), and Short Term Plan meetings (STP), and collaborate with other departments as needed;

    2. Support the deployment and validation of new systems; 

    3. Assist with penetration tests; 

    4. Contribute to internal and external security audits;

  4. Ensure Obsolescence and Lifecycle Management: 

    1. Monitor and manage hardware and software obsolescence, ensuring alignment with IT system lifecycle processes; 

    2. Provide support for equipment upgrades and replacements; 

    3. Support the License Management Process;

  5. Monitor System Performance and provide systems performance reporting;

  6. Provide collaborative support to other internal SOM teams as necessary, such as cyber-related activities, or other EUSPA departments, such as Engineering Team, Security Team or Facility Management Team in specific activities;

  7. Contribute proactively to corporate tasks, such as planning, reporting, administration, financial & budget management, risk management in the area of Administration and Operations.


In addition, the role may involve future relocation to another current or future Agency site to support service needs, with consideration for the employee’s circumstances.

your profile

Professional experience and expertise

  1. Experience in IT technologies (e.g. Microsoft, Linux & Container Orchestration, Web & Database Management, Monitoring & Observability, Storage & Backup, Security & Networking, Middleware & Application Servers);

  2. Experience in IT system administration including preventive and corrective maintenance;

  3. Experience in working in a security operations centre and/or 24/7 operational environment with highly classified information would be considered an asset;

  4. Experience in financial, procurement and contract management;

  5. Excellent command of both written and spoken English;
